Runciman

The use of complementary materials and colours firmly connects this home with its landscape, making what was once a bare paddock feel like a natural extension of the family living. The design has also defined the front entrance, with the roundabout garden featuring a striking blue Te Kauwhata boulder and a path with sleeper surrounds set in concrete leading to the door.

The simple gardens feature an easy-care mix of exotic and native trees and shrubs, with foliage colours making an impact - from red flax alongside corten steel to lush greens nestled under charcoal grey brick. The sweeping 2,500 square metre lawn connects the outdoor entertaining, pool and playground, with mowing strips installed for easy maintenance.
